IEC Available on Diabetes Awareness & Diabetic Foot Care, 4/10/16

A series of IEC materials on Diabetic Awareness & Diabetic Foot Care were published for Public Awareness. Publication of Pamplets are available in English, Lotha Naga & Nagamese Dialects.

Audio visual tape will be available shortly on various local dialects.The IEC materials are produced by the Partnership Program of Bethesda Youth Welfare Centre,Dimapur, Nagaland(BYWCD) and WDF (World Diabetes Foundation), Denmark.Over a period of 3 years a target of 67500 people are expected to be reached out through awareness program covering the villages in Dimapur and Wokha Districts. Almost 27000 people are targeted to be tested on Diabetes Care.


Awareness and Screening Camp on Diabectic Care at Hayiyan Village, May 14,2016
Promoting prevention, care and management of diabetes among Indigenous People Emphasizing on Diabetic Foot Care programe was launched for the two most needed districts of Dimapur and Wokha. Over the period of three years the Project will cover more than 400 Villages and localities in the Rurals of these twin district and will create awareness amongst 67500 people.A possible 27000 people are expected to be Screened and linkages will be made to the Governmental and Non Governmental Health set ups for treatment of Diabetic Foot Care.The project will network with 3 other Partner NGOs Project WDF 15-1245 is a partnership programs of BYWCD and World Diabetic Foundation (Denmark).

DS5.JPG Response Driven Sampling (RDS 2) is an extension research program of the ongoing activities on IDUs related research project in is a collaborative program of NACO/SACS and YRG.ORG Care, Chennai with Bethesda YWC Dimapur as the local partner. The brief function was dedicated by the Associate Pastor of the Lotha Baptist Church,Dimapur Mr.Yanbemo Ovung.The CF of Bethesda YWC Shri WC Humtsoe shared the objectives of the Research activities with Mr.Jobins Joseph the Site Coordinator of YRG,Care delivering the welcome address.Vote of thanks was delivered by the Associate Director of Bethesda YWC Shri Longshithung Kithan.

Along with the rest of the world,the Bethesda Youth Welfare Centre organises WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY on June 5,2015 at Hayiyan Village, Bhandari Division,Wokha District collaborating with the Village Council and Church authorities.Later on a plantation drive was undertaken along the Foothill Road in the village vicinity with more than 500 tree saplings planted. The program was initiated by BYWCD-CCIHL/CSD Project. Organises  Buffet cum 25th Anniversary Pre-Celebration.

As a curtain raiser on the fast approaching 25th Anniversary Celebration slated to be held on 22nd September 2012, the Bethesda Youth Welfare Centre Dimapur organized Buffet cum Pre- Celebration in Aid of the forthcoming anniversary celebration on 24th August 2012 at IMC Hall Dimapur with Shri. N. Jacob Yanthan S.D.A.O (Store), Dept. of Agriculture as special guest. In his opening remarks      Mr. Yanthan congratulated the Bethesda Youth Welfare Centre Dimapur for the completion of its 25th years of service to the people in various fields on 1st September 2012. He also said that “Completion of 25 years of services to the people involves numerous hardships where, on so many occasions, people fail to understand and appreciate the selfless sacrifices that we made to the neglected sections in the society”.

Mr. Longshithung, Learning Site Project Coordinator warmly welcomed all the well wishers present while Mr. W.C. Humtsoe, the Executive Director Bethesda Youth Welfare Centre Dimapur highlighted  the 25th years of its glorious services particularly to the downtrodden and marginalized section of the society through power point presentation. And to add colour to the program songs were presented by Male Voice, Dimapur Lotha Baptist Church, Kids Worship Centre, Walford Road Dimapur with special appearance by Miss Meribeni Patton, Local Artist and Mr. Mhachen Yanthan, Top five Finalist Kids for Fame 0.1, Best Vocalist School Rock Hunt, Wokha 2012 who enthralled the participants with their heartbreaking tunes. Mr. Tsenlamo Kikon and Mr. Chenithung, an enthusiast local artists also presented Nagamese and blues songs respectively

Celebrating 25th Glorious years of service to people in needs1987-2012
22nd International Harm Reduction Conference -2011 at Beirut, Lebanon., 3th - 7th April 2011.

Bethesda Youth Welfare Centre,Dimapur was one of the five NGOs from South Asia Region invited and sponsored by the World Bank to  display and shared  working  experiences in their own respective area of interventions  on Harm Reduction activities during the 22nd International Harm Reduction Conference held at Beruit,Lebanon from April 3-7,2011.Bethesda Youth Welfare is one of the oldest NGOs  spearheading programs  on  Drug Dependency and HIV/AIDS  in Nagaland  and in the North East India since 1987.

The Conference was represented by  more than  100 countries from across the Globe with a theme on “Building Capacity,Redressing Neglects“ and was co hosted by SIDC and MENAHRA(Middle East  and North Africa Networks on Harm Reduction).
